Tap Your Problems Away
Paula Swope

Let’s face it. Life throws some serious curveballs from time to time. The outcome of these curveballs often lies in one thing – How we react to the problem that is thrown at us. To be the absolute best version of myself, I seek holistic approaches versus medicine when possible; however, I firmly believe in the power of modern medicine and science. A few weeks ago, I was watching a podcast and learned about tapping. Tapping is an emotional freedom technique (EFT) that has been used to solve problems such as anxiety and post-traumatic stress syndrome. But what I am realizing is it can be used for anything!

Problems in our bodies occur when our energy is disrupted. Tapping works like acupuncture to reinstate our balance. When I hear the word “acupuncture,” I immediately think of needles. With tapping, needles aren’t necessary, because we use our fingertips to stimulate our meridian points. Some refer to our meridian points as energy hot spots. Our energy hot spots include:

  • Side of our hands
  • The area on the outside of our hands below our pinky finger in between our wrist
  • Top of our head
  • Eyebrow
  • The area right in between our eyebrows
  • On the sides of our eyes
  • Under our eyes
  • The bone right under our eyes
  • The area underneath our nose
  • Chin
  • Top of the collarbone
  • Under the arm
  • Right underneath our armpits

At the time, when I listened to that podcast, I had a nasty head cold and my allergies were off the chain. I felt just awful. Over the counter cold medicines never work for me, so I tried tapping. I googled the technique and found I could use it for any problem, so I thought, “Why not try to tap this head cold away?” Here’s what happened.

The first time I used tapping, I didn’t feel much relief, so I did it again. By the third round, I felt better. The next day, I woke up, felt bad, but better. I tapped all day that day. Low and behold the next day, my head cold was gone. This isn’t hogwash. When I get a severe head cold, those nasty things do not go silently in the night. They linger for 7-8 days at a time and sometimes up to 2 weeks. This one went away in record time – 4 days.

Two weeks later, I received my COVID booster. Par for the course, my side effects kicked in about 12-13 hours after getting it. I woke up in the middle of the night with cold chills, body aches, headache, and overall icky feeling. I started tapping. Each tapping session worked to alleviate symptoms. By nighttime, I was OK. Side effects vanished. This was not the case when I got the 2nd shot back in April. I was down for an entire weekend and still felt tired and sluggish on that Monday.

My role as a spiritual advisor is to give you as many tools as possible to help you be the best version of yourself. So, I decided to provide a demonstration of tapping. Click here to see the video: https://youtu.be/A5LUt8JtTSw

Tapping is a technique that anyone can learn, and it doesn’t cost any money! View this as one more addition to your spiritual toolbox. Tapping can be used daily as a routine spiritual practice, as well. You can combine tapping with any of your daily spiritual practices. It worked for me. It’s worked for hundreds of thousands of others. Give it a try. If it doesn’t help you, it certainly won’t hurt you.
